Alex Poukchanski is a seasoned financial services professional with a diversified expertise in data analytics, financial valuation, litigation, and information technology. With a unique combination of knowlegde spanning investment banking, economic consulting, and index development, Alex brings a strategic perspective to tackling complex challenges in the financial services industry.

As the Director of Index Analytics at CRSP, Alex leads initiatives to refine and innovate index methodologies. Alex’s recent work has focused on designing a transparent methodology for the CRSP ISS ESG Index suite and enhancing CRSP Market Indexes by incorporating a transitional reconstitution process to minimize price impacts during index rebalancing — marking CRSP Market Indexes the first U.S. equity indexes to adopt this approach on a regular basis.

Before joining CRSP, Alex worked at J.P. Morgan Investment Bank in the Financial Institutions Group, focusing on banks, brokerages, exchanges, asset managers and fintech. Earlier in his career, Alex was a Senior Analyst at Cornerstone Research, where he worked with financial expert witnesses around issues stemming from the 2008 financial crisis.

Alex holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, an MA in Statistics from Columbia University, and an AB in Mathematics from Harvard College.
