David Kornblau, co-chair of the Global Compliance and Investigations practice for Dentons’ US region, represents clients in sensitive and complex investigations, securities litigation and internal investigations. David’s clients include public companies, investment banks, stock exchanges, asset management firms, senior executives, portfolio managers, and traders. He has deep expertise in cryptocurrency, Special Purpose Acquisition Companies, off-channel communications, ESG, cybersecurity, insider trading, accounting, and disclosure issues. He also is a seasoned civil litigator.

A ten-year veteran of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement, he served as Chief Litigation Counsel during the “Enron Era” of large-scale corporate investigations and heightened enforcement activity. He also served as a Special Assistant US Attorney in a criminal securities fraud prosecution. David also spent four years as Managing Director and the Head of Global Regulatory Affairs at Merrill Lynch, where he oversaw the firm’s responses to all regulatory and law-enforcement investigations through the 2008 financial crisis.
