Emily P. Gordy, partner at McGuireWoods LLP, advises her clients, financial institutions and personnel, on a wide range of compliance and enforcement issues. Emily has extensive AML experience, as well as experience in a wide variety of other regulatory issues. Emily is also well-versed in examination and enforcement practices of financial services regulators. Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Emily was Deputy General Counsel, EVP, at a large independent BD/IA, managing the regulatory program. Prior to her inhouse position, Emily spent many years as a regulator, serving in a variety of senior management positions at FINRA, including Deputy of Enforcement. Additionally, she served as SEC, Deputy Chief Counsel, Enforcement Division. She is admitted in Maryland and the District of Columbia. She received her JD, cum laude, from American University, Washington College of Law, and her BA, magna cum laude, from Gettysburg College.
