Steven Peikin

Steven R. Peikin is a partner in the law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and heads its Securities and Commodities Investigations and Enforcement Practice. In 2020, Steve rejoined S&C, where he had been a partner from 2006 to 2017, including heading its Criminal Defense and Investigations Group. From 2017-2020, Steve served as Co-Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement. In that position, he had overall responsibility for the SEC’s national enforcement program. Steve also previously served for eight years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York, including as Chief of the Office’s Securities and Commodities Fraud Unit. Steve is a magna cum laude graduate of both Yale College and Harvard School of Law and served as a law clerk in the Southern District of New York and on the Second Circuit.
