Kyle Freeny, a skilled trial attorney and former federal prosecutor with the Department of Justice’s Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section, focuses her practice on white collar criminal defense, government and internal investigations, and anti-money laundering, sanctions, and international corruption matters.

Kyle was one of 19 prosecutors selected by Robert S. Mueller III to conduct the high-profile investigation into alleged Russian election interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. As Assistant Special Counsel, Kyle played a lead role in federal tax and bank fraud investigations and spearheaded the money laundering investigation into Russia’s use of cryptocurrency to fund its cyber intrusion activities.

While at the Department of Justice, Kyle investigated major international money laundering, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) matters. Kyle has considerable experience handling cross-border issues and complex transnational financial cases involving multiple U.S. and foreign regulators.
