Valecia McDowell is the Co-Head of Moore & Van Allen, PLLC’s White Collar, Regulatory Defense and Investigations practice. She has experience conducting investigations in the U.S., Europe, Asia and South America. Ms. McDowell has represented clients in matters involving the DOJ, SEC, HUD, FINRA, CFTC, OIG, Congress, State Attorneys General, the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Japanese Financial Services Agency (JFSA), and the Banco Central do Brasil (the Central Bank of Brazil), among others. She also leads the Firm’s Civil Rights and Racial Equity Assessment Practice. Ms. McDowell has been recognized by Chambers Partners USA, Best Lawyers in America, and others for excellence in the practice of law. She has served as a guest instructor at Duke University School of Law on the topic of “Internal Investigations” (2016-2023), published articles in Corporate Compliance, American Banker, Bloomberg and other publications and serves on the Law360 Compliance Editorial Board.
